Introduction
The BQ24160, BQ24160A, BQ24161, BQ24161B, BQ24163, and BQ24168 are highly integrated single-cell lithium-ion battery chargers and system power path management devices designed for portable applications with limited space and high-capacity batteries. This single-cell charger has dual inputs and can be powered by a USB port or a higher-power input source (i.e., an AC adapter or wireless charging input), making it suitable for multi-purpose solutions. These two inputs are fully isolated from each other and can be easily selected using the I2C interface. With power path management capabilities, the BQ2416xx can charge the battery independently while powering the system through an efficient DC/DC converter. The power path management architecture enables the system to operate when the battery pack is defective or missing, and it can achieve instant system startup even when the battery is fully discharged or absent.
