Introduction
The TDC1011 is a fully integrated ultrasonic sensing analog front-end (AFE) commonly used in liquid level, liquid identification/concentration, and proximity/remote sensing applications in the automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer goods markets. When used in conjunction with MSP430/C2000 MCUs, power supplies, wireless networks, and source code, it provides a complete ultrasonic sensing solution. It is programmable and flexible, suitable for a wide range of applications and end devices. It can be configured for various transmit pulses and frequencies, gains, and signal thresholds for use with a variety of sensor frequencies (31.25 kHz to 4 MHz) and Q factors. The receive path can be programmably set, enabling the detection of ultrasonic waves propagating through various media over longer distances/larger tank sizes. Different operating modes can be selected, and it is optimized for low power consumption, making it an ideal choice for battery-powered applications. The low-noise amplifier and comparator generate extremely low jitter, enabling picosecond-level resolution and accuracy. It can perform various measurements in tanks made of different materials, such as liquid level and liquid identification/concentration.
