Introduction
The MC74VHC1G32 / MC74VHC1GT32 is a single 2-input OR gate in a micro package. The MC74VHC1G32 features CMOS-level input thresholds, while the MC74VHC1GT32 features TTL-level thresholds. The input structure provides protection when voltages up to 5.5V are applied, regardless of the supply voltage. This allows the device to be used for interfacing 5V circuits with 3V circuits. Certain output structures also provide protection when VCC = 0V and when the output voltage exceeds VCC. These input and output structures help prevent device damage caused by supply voltage and input/output voltage mismatches, battery backup, hot-plug conditions, and similar scenarios.
