The Zybo Z7 is a feature-rich, ready-to-use embedded software and digital circuit development board built around the Xilinx Zynq-7000 family. The Zynq series is based on Xilinx's All Programmable SoC architecture, tightly integrating a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Xilinx 7-series FPGA logic. The Zybo Z7 equips the Zynq device with a rich set of multimedia and connectivity peripherals, making it a capable single-board computer — and that's before considering the flexibility and power that the FPGA brings. The Zybo Z7's video feature set — including a MIPI CSI-2-compatible Pcam connector, HDMI input, HDMI output, and high-bandwidth DDR3L memory — is designed to make it a cost-effective solution for the high-end embedded vision applications at which Xilinx FPGAs excel. Additional hardware can be easily connected via the Zybo Z7's Pmod connectors, enabling access to over 70 Pmod peripheral boards in the Digilent catalog, including motor controllers, sensors, displays, and more. The Zybo Z7 is a direct replacement for the popular Zybo development board, which is being discontinued.
