Introduction
MSP430F67xx1A multi-phase metering SoC is a powerful and highly integrated solution that provides high-precision metering and low system cost with few external components. The MSP430F67xx1A microcontroller (MCU) series is part of the MSP430 metering and monitoring MCU product family, which is dedicated to power measurement and power monitoring applications (including smart grid and building automation).
MSP430F67xx1A MCUs have up to seven independent 24-bit Σ-Δ ADCs, providing better than 0.1% accuracy. The MSP430F67xx1A devices integrate a high-performance MSP430 CPU and a 32-bit multiplier to perform all metering calculations. Series product members include up to 512KB of flash memory, 32KB of RAM, and an LCD controller supporting up to 320 segments.
MSP430F67xx1A has ultra-low power consumption, which can minimize the system power supply and thus reduce the total cost. Low standby power requires the lowest power storage and can retain critical data for a longer time when the main power supply fails.
The MSP430F67xx1A MCU series is supported by a wide range of software and hardware ecosystems. The Texas Instruments (TI) Energy Measurement Design Center (EMDC) can simplify development and speed up design by quickly configuring the energy measurement software library, automatically generating code, performing calibration, and viewing results. The MSP430F67xx1A MCU executes the energy measurement software library, which calculates all relevant energy and power results. Development kits include the EVM430-F6779 three-phase meter evaluation board and the MSP-TS430PEU128 128-pin target development board. Industrial standard development tools and software platforms are also provided to accelerate the development of meters compliant with all ANSI and IEC standards globally.
