MACOM MAMF-011015-TR0500

MAMF-011015 is a multifunction GaAs MMIC operating from 8 to 11 GHz. It integrates an advanced silicon-based serial controller for addressing the GaAs die to select the desired receive/transmit path and perform necessary signal control, along with several other functions. The GaAs die is fabricated using a 0.25 μm pHEMT GaAs process, optimized for RF power, low-noise, and RF signal control applications, making it well-suited for high integration density on a single IC. This GaAs MMIC contains a "common path" circuit integrating a 4-bit digital attenuator, a 6-bit digital phase shifter, and a T/R SPDT switch for receive/transmit path selection. The receive path includes an LNA and 2 additional higher-attenuation bits. The transmit path driver amplifier is designed to deliver sufficient RF power and gain to an external power amplifier. The silicon-based serial controller die of the MAMF-011015 is designed to address the common path signal control components of the GaAs die as well as other functions, such as enabling or disabling the internal gate/drain switching of the LNA or driver amplifier via external gate/drain control. When internal gate switching is disabled, external drain switching can be used to achieve fast T/R switching.
