Introduction
FM4258 is a highly integrated and reliable dual-cell lithium battery boost charging management IC. The charging current is configurable via an external resistor. The charging system integrates three control loops: input adaptive loop, constant voltage output loop, and constant current output loop, delivering superior performance for charging applications. The boost switching charge converter operates at 650KHz, supports up to 2.5A input charging current, and achieves 90% conversion efficiency. With a 5V input voltage and a built-in adaptive loop, it intelligently adjusts the charging current to be compatible with all adapters. Integrated power MOSFETs and an asynchronous switching architecture minimize the number of external components required, effectively reducing overall solution size and BOM cost. Comprehensive protection features are integrated, including input overvoltage, input undervoltage, output short circuit, output overvoltage, and over-temperature protection. Available in a compact ESOP8 package, with a rated operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
