Introduction
FNF - LT11 multimode fiber transceiver provides a slim, cost-effective solution for Fast Ethernet multimode (up to 2.0 km) fiber data links with a duplex LC connector interface. These transceivers are fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3u Fast Ethernet standard, but may also be used for other data communication applications within their operating parameters. The transceiver consists of transmitter and receiver functions integrated in a slim module. The optical transmitter is a high-output 1310 nm LED. The transmitter input lines are driven by differential LVPECL signals applied to the transmit (TX+ and TX−) pins. These signals are converted internally by a CMOS IC to the appropriate modulation current. The optical receiver consists of a PIN and preamplifier assembly along with a CMOS limiting post-amplifier IC. The receiver outputs include differential CML data signals on the receive (RX+ and RX−) pins, and a loss-of-signal (LOS) function as a single-ended LVTTL signal on the LOS pin. When the LOS signal is asserted, the RX data is squelched (JAM) to prevent garbage data from being output in the absence of an optical signal.
