The S-8424A series is a CMOS IC designed for main and backup power supply switching circuits on a single chip. It integrates two voltage regulators, three voltage detectors, a power switch with its controller, and additional functions. In addition to switching between main and backup power supplies, the series provides microcontrollers with three voltage detection output signals corresponding to the supply voltage levels. Furthermore, a special switching control sequence enables efficient utilization of the backup power supply, making this IC an ideal choice for configuring backup systems.

- Three built-in voltage detectors (CS, PREEND, RESET): detection voltage accuracy ±2%; CS voltage detector detection voltage selectable from 2.4 V to 5.3 V in 0.1 V steps; PREEND and RESET voltage detector detection voltage selectable from 1.7 V to 3.4 V in 0.1 V steps.
