개요
The SiT1572 is an ultra-small, micro-power 32.768 kHz oscillator in a CSP-4 package. Under no-load conditions, the typical supply current is 4.5μA. SiTime's MEMS oscillator consists of a MEMS resonator and a programmable analog circuit. The SiT1572 MEMS resonator is fabricated using SiTime's proprietary MEMS First® process. A key manufacturing step is EpiSeal®, during which the MEMS resonator is annealed at temperatures exceeding 1000°C. EpiSeal® creates an extremely robust, clean vacuum cavity that encapsulates the MEMS resonator, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. During the EpiSeal® process, a polysilicon cap is grown on top of the resonator cavity, eliminating the need for an additional cap wafer or other special packaging. As a result, SiTime's MEMS resonator die can be used like any other semiconductor die. A unique outcome of SiTime's MEMS First and EpiSeal® manufacturing processes is the ability to integrate SiTime's MEMS die with a SoC, ASIC, microprocessor, or analog chip within a single package, eliminating external timing components and providing customers with highly integrated, smaller, and more cost-effective solutions. The SiT1572 oscillator is factory-calibrated to 32.768 kHz at room temperature and internally compensated across the temperature range. The result is a highly accurate oscillator both at room temperature and across the temperature range. Unlike quartz crystals with a classic tuning fork parabolic temperature curve (turnover point at 25°C, temperature coefficient of 0.04 to 0.06 ppm/°C²), the SiT1572 corrects errors across the temperature range via an active temperature correction circuit. The result is a frequency deviation of ≤50 ppm over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range. When measuring the output frequency of the SiT1572 with a frequency counter, always ensure the counter's gate time is >100 ms. Shorter gate times may result in inaccurate measurements.
