Introduction
SN65HVD233, SN65HVD234, and SN65HVD235 are designed for applications using the CAN serial communication physical layer compliant with the ISO 11898 standard. As CAN transceivers, each device provides transmit and receive capability between the differential CAN bus and a CAN controller at signaling rates up to 1Mbps.
These devices are designed for operation in particularly harsh environments, featuring cross-wire protection, overvoltage protection up to ±36V, ground fault protection, overtemperature (thermal shutdown) protection, and ±100V common-mode transient protection. These devices operate over a wide common-mode range of -7V to 12V. These transceivers serve as the interface between the host CAN controller on a microprocessor and the differential CAN bus used in industrial, building automation, transportation, and automotive applications.
