Introduction
The LM2576HV series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits ideally suited for easy design of step-down switching regulators (buck converters). All circuits in this series are capable of driving a 3.0A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V, 15V fixed output voltages and an adjustable output version. These regulators are designed to minimize the number of external components, simplifying power supply design. Features of the LM2576HV include: output voltage tolerance of ±4% under specified input voltage and output load conditions; oscillator frequency tolerance of ±10%. The device includes an external shutdown function with a typical standby current of 50µA. The output switch features cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown, providing complete protection under fault conditions.
