Introduction
The SN74ALVC164245 is a high-performance, low-power, low-voltage, silicon-gate CMOS device that outperforms most advanced CMOS families compatible with TTL levels. The SN74ALVC164245 is a 16-bit bus transceiver with dual supply and 3-state control. It is designed to interface between 3V and 5V buses in mixed 3V and 5V supply environments. The device can be used as two 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver. The direction control inputs (1DIR and 2DIR) determine the direction of data flow. When nDIR is HIGH, data flows from the nAn ports to the nBn ports. When nDIR is LOW, data flows from the nBn ports to the nAn ports. When the output enable inputs (1OE and 2OE) are HIGH, the nAn and nBn ports are disabled by placing them in a high-impedance state. The nAn, nOE, and nDIR ports are powered by VCC(A), and the nBn ports are powered by VCC(B). In suspend mode, when one of the supply voltages is zero, no current flows from the nonzero supply to the zero supply. The nAn outputs must be set to the high-impedance state, and the voltage on the A bus must be less than Vdiode (typically 0.7V). VCC(B) ≥ VCC(A) (except in suspend mode).
