TI THVD1450DR

The THVD14xx is a series of noise-immune RS-485/RS-422 transceivers designed specifically to operate in harsh industrial environments. The bus pins of these devices can withstand high levels of IEC Electrical Fast Transients (EFT) and IEC Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) events, eliminating the need for additional system-level protection components.

• 3V to 5.5V supply voltage
• Differential output greater than 2.1V for PROFIBUS compatibility with 5V supply
• Bus I/O ESD protection: ±30kV HBM, ±18kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge, ±25kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±4kV IEC 61000-4-4 fast transient burst
• Extended common-mode range for operation: ±15V
• Low EMI at 500kbps and 50Mbps data rates
• Large receiver hysteresis for noise suppression
• Low power consumption
• Standby supply current: <1μA, operating current: <3mA
• Extended ambient temperature range: -40°C to 125°C
• Glitch-free power-up/power-down for hot-plug capability
• Open, short, and idle bus failsafe protection
• 1/8 unit load (up to 256 bus nodes)
