Opis
TE Circuit Protection offers the most extensive selection of surface-mount fuses to meet a wide range of overcurrent protection application requirements. Our one-time chip fuses help prevent damage to expensive equipment and create a safe environment for electronic and electrical devices, with stable performance supporting applications rated from 0.5A to 20A.
TE Circuit Protection also offers the Telecom FT600 fuse for telecommunications applications. This telecom fuse helps meet North American overcurrent protection requirements, including Telcordia, GR-1089, TIA-968-A (formerly FCC Part 68), and UL60950 3rd Edition.
The multilayer chip fuse design offers the advantage of exposing more fuse element surface area to the glass-ceramic absorbing material. When the fuse element blows, more material is available to absorb the vaporized fuse metal, enabling efficient and effective arc quenching.
The 2410 (6125) is a wirewound SMD fuse designed for secondary overcurrent protection applications. Its straight-wire air-wound element delivers consistent melting and interrupting characteristics in air, along with excellent surge current withstand capability. PCB assembly technology has been incorporated into the design and manufacture of the 2410SFV fuse, achieving a fully lead-free construction with no risk of end-cap separation — compared to conventional ceramic-body fuses with end caps.
A fuse is a temperature-sensitive device. As such, operating temperature affects fuse performance and service life. Operating temperature should be taken into account when selecting a fuse current rating. The thermal derating curve for surface-mount fuses is shown in Figure 4, which can be used to determine the derating percentage based on operating temperature.
Fuse selection may appear straightforward — simply choose a fuse with a current rating slightly above the worst-case operating current of the system. In practice, however, this is not the case; derating factors for operating current and application temperature must also be considered. System startup and other operations — such as changes in processor speed or motor starting — can cause current surges or spikes, which must also be accounted for when selecting a fuse. Therefore, choosing the right fuse for an application is not as simple as knowing the system's nominal current alone.
Pulse-tolerant chip fuses feature high surge current withstand capability, providing overcurrent protection for DC power systems. Silver fuse elements combined with monolithic and multilayer designs deliver robust arc-quenching characteristics. These RoHS-compliant SMDs help enable the development of more reliable, high-performance consumer electronics — including laptops, multimode devices, mobile phones, and other portable electronic products.
Funkcje
- Multi-layer design exposes greater fuse element surface area to arc-quenching material for efficient arc extinction
- Straight-wire air-wound element ensures consistent melting and interrupting characteristics with excellent surge current withstand capability
- PCB assembly technology eliminates lead and end-cap detachment risks
- Pulse-tolerant chip fuse with high surge current withstand capability; silver fuse element and multi-layer design provide superior arc-quenching performance
