PSoC™ 4 is a scalable and reconfigurable platform architecture for a range of programmable embedded system controllers based on the Arm® Cortex®-M0+ CPU and compliant with the AEC-Q100 standard. It integrates programmable and reconfigurable analog and digital blocks with flexible auto-routing capabilities. The PSoC™ 4100S family is a member of the PSoC™ 4 platform architecture, combining a microcontroller with standard communication and timing peripherals, an industry-leading capacitive touch sensing system (CAPSENSE™), programmable general-purpose continuous-time and switched-capacitor analog blocks, and programmable connectivity. PSoC™ 4100S devices are upward compatible with other members of the PSoC™ 4 platform to address new application and design requirements.

• Serial communication: three independent runtime-reconfigurable serial communication blocks (SCBs) with reconfigurable I2C, SPI, UART, or LIN slave functionality
• Timing and PWM: five 16-bit timer/counter/PWM (TCPWM) blocks; center-aligned, edge, and pseudo-random modes; comparator-based Kill signal triggering for motor drive and other high-reliability digital logic applications
• Programmable GPIO: 40-pin QFN and 28-pin SSOP packages; any GPIO pin configurable as CAPSENSE™, analog, or digital; drive mode, strength, and slew rate programmable
