Introduction
The OPA170, OPA2170, and OPA4170 devices (OPAx170) are a family of 36V, single-supply, low-noise op amps in miniature packages, capable of operating from a supply voltage range of 2.7V (±1.35V) to 36V (±18V). They deliver excellent offset, drift, and bandwidth while maintaining low quiescent current. Single, dual, and quad versions share identical specifications, maximizing design flexibility.
Unlike most op amps that are specified at only a single supply voltage, the OPAx170 family is rated to operate over the full 2.7V to 36V range. Input signals that exceed the supply rails do not cause phase reversal. The OPAx170 family remains stable with capacitive loads up to 300pF. The inputs operate properly from 100mV below the negative supply rail to within 2V of the positive supply rail. Note that these devices can operate with a full rail-to-rail input up to 100mV above the positive supply rail, but performance is degraded when operating within 2V of the positive supply rail. The OPAx170 op amps are rated for operation over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
