Introduction
The GH1279U is fabricated using high-voltage CMOS process technology. The chip integrates a Hall sensor, dual-channel output driver circuits, and protection circuits, primarily designed for use in 5V and 12V dual-coil DC motor fans. The chip features built-in over-temperature protection, locked-rotor protection, and auto-recovery startup circuitry. When the chip detects that the motor fan has stopped for 0.5 seconds, it automatically shuts down both output channels for 4.0 seconds, then restarts the circuit to detect whether the motor fan is rotating. If rotation is detected, the chip resumes normal operation; otherwise, if the motor fan fails to rotate within 0.5 seconds, the chip shuts down again for 4.0 seconds. This cycle repeats until the motor fan operates normally. This feature effectively prevents coil damage caused by overheating due to locked-rotor conditions. The GH1279U has a maximum startup current of 600mA and a maximum continuous output current capability of 350mA, available in a through-hole SIP-3L (TO-92S) package.
