Introduction
LTC4314 is a hot-swappable four-channel two-wire bus multiplexer that allows one upstream bus to connect to any combination of downstream buses or channels. Each connection is controlled by a separate enable pin. LTC4314 provides bidirectional buffering, isolating upstream bus capacitance from downstream bus capacitance. High noise margins enable LTC4314 to interoperate with devices that drive high VOL (>0.4V). LTC4314 supports level translation between 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V buses. The hot-swap capability of LTC4314 allows I/O cards to be inserted into or removed from a live backplane without corrupting the data and clock buses.
If the data and clock lines are not both high at least once within 45ms and DISCEN is high, a FAULT signal is generated indicating a bus stuck-low condition, the input is disconnected from all enabled output channels, and up to 16 clocks are generated on the enabled downstream buses. The tri-state ACC pin enables input-side and output-side rise time accelerators of different strengths and sets the VIL, RISING voltage.
