The CY74FCT16646T and CY74FCT162646T 16-bit transceivers are three-state D-type registers and control circuits for multiplexing data directly from input buses or internal registers. Data on the A or B bus is clocked into the registers when the corresponding clock pin transitions to a logic high level. Output Enable (OE) and Direction (DIR) pins are provided to control transceiver functions. In transceiver mode, data on the high-impedance port can be stored in the A or B register, or both simultaneously. Select controls allow multiplexing between stored data and real-time (transparent mode) data. When OE is low, the direction control determines which bus receives data. In isolation mode (OE high), A data can be stored in the B register and/or B data can be stored in the A register. The output buffers feature a power-off disable function, allowing live board insertion. The CY74FCT16646T is well suited for driving high-capacitance loads and low-impedance backplanes. The CY74FCT162646T features 24 mA balanced output drivers with current-limiting resistors on the outputs. This reduces the need for external termination resistors and minimizes undershoot and ground bounce. The CY74FCT162646T is well suited for driving transmission lines.
