FAN5622, FAN5624, and FAN5626 are 2-, 4-, and 6-current-sink linear LED drivers, respectively, designed for mobile devices such as LCD display or keypad backlighting in cell phones. With a dropout voltage of only 50mV, LEDs can be driven without inductors or switched capacitors. The brightness level of the LED outputs is programmed via a single-wire digital control interface. Users can program 32 linear dimming levels and turn LEDs on or off by applying digital pulses. The FAN562x series achieves higher efficiency through the low dropout voltage of its LED drivers. Good matching between different channels of LED output is maintained across all 32 dimming levels. The LED drivers also integrate short-circuit detection, undervoltage, and overtemperature protection, resulting in a more robust solution. FAN5622, FAN5624, and FAN5626 are all available in very compact packages: 6-pin Super SOT23, 10-lead UMLP, and 10-lead MicroPak MLP, respectively.
