Introduction
The ADP1740/ADP1741 are low dropout (LDO) CMOS linear regulators that operate from a 1.6 V to 3.6 V supply and deliver up to 2 A of output current. These low V_IN/V_OUT LDOs are ideal regulators for nanometer geometry FPGAs powered from 2.5 V down to 1.8 V I/O rails while providing core voltages as low as 0.75 V. Built on an advanced proprietary architecture, the ADP1740/ADP1741 deliver high PSRR and low noise, achieving excellent line and load transient response with a single compact 4.7 μF ceramic output capacitor.
The ADP1740 offers seven fixed output voltage options. The ADP1741 is the adjustable version, with output voltage programmable from 0.75 V to 3.3 V via an external resistor divider. The ADP1740/ADP1741 support an external soft-start capacitor for programmable startup control. These devices feature a power-good digital output pin, allowing a power system monitor to verify that the output voltage is within regulation.
The ADP1740/ADP1741 are available in a compact 16-lead, 4 mm × 4 mm LFCSP, combining a small footprint with excellent thermal performance for thin, space-constrained applications requiring up to 2 A output current.
