Introduction
When the application scenario is more complex than what a "standalone" switch can provide, consider using the MICRO SWITCH™ AC Series door switches. AC Series switch assemblies monitor whether a service door or panel is "closed" or "open." This series is a compact switch assembly suitable for a variety of equipment applications, including vending machine service doors or panels, truck trailer monitoring doors, and more. When a device electrically interlocked through an AC Series switch (such as a door or panel) is opened, the AC Series switch cuts power. In addition, AC Series switches can provide electrical signals to signal circuits (such as indicator lights or horns) to indicate that a door or panel is in the open position. Most AC Series switch assemblies also feature a "pull-override" position, which allows a service door to be opened while power is maintained through the switch assembly — a feature that can be useful during equipment troubleshooting. AC Series switch assemblies can be configured with up to four switch elements, providing discrete outputs to meet the needs of control and/or indication circuits. Select catalog products carry UL and CSA certifications.
Features
- Compatible with Honeywell MICRO SWITCH™ V3, V7, SM, SE, or BZ series switches; no exposed contacts
- Temperature range: -40°C ~ 85°C (-40°F ~ 185°F) for reliable operation in harsh conditions
- Many catalog products feature internally threaded actuators for easy customer installation of auxiliary plungers
- Multiple switching actuation options: 2-position momentary, 2-position momentary with torsional locking, or 3-position (push momentary, pull maintained)
- Automatically cuts equipment power when service doors, panels, or drawers are opened
- Three standard switch assembly mechanical positions available: push momentary/pull-override maintained; 2-position momentary; 2-position push momentary/push-rotate lock maintained
- Switch assemblies designed for side or end mounting with multiple mounting configurations
- Current range from less than 1A to 21A for interface with control and signal circuits
- Select switch assemblies carry CSA and UL component certification
- Switch assemblies available in single- or double-throw action, up to four poles, providing control circuits and optional signal circuits as required
- Two switch terminal types available (screw or quick-connect tab) to meet machine design requirements
Applications
- Vending machines: indicates whether the front panel is closed
- HVAC equipment: interlock for one or more service panels
- Home appliances: interlock for service or access panels
- Communication equipment: interlock for service or access panels
- Office equipment: interlock for service or access panels
- Truck trailer or semi-trailer doors: indicates whether the door is closed and/or locked
- Commercial doors and gates: monitors open/closed status of doors or gates
