Introduction
The TPC5121Q contains a capacitor-based successive approximation register ADC with a built-in sample-and-hold function. The device features 8 single-ended input channels. It supports a wide analog supply voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.25 V. Ultra-low power consumption makes it suitable for battery-powered and isolated supply applications. A wide I/O supply voltage range of 1.7 V to 5.25 V enables seamless interfacing with the most commonly used digital hosts. The serial interface is controlled by CS and SCLK, facilitating connection to microprocessors and DSPs. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CS. It uses SCLK for conversion, serial data output, and serial data reading. The device allows automatic sequencing of pre-selected channels or manual selection of the channel for the next conversion cycle. It provides two software-selectable input ranges (0 V to VREF and 0 V to 2×VREF), individually configurable GPIO ports, and two programmable alarm thresholds per channel. These features make it suitable for most data acquisition applications. The device offers an effective shutdown function, which is particularly useful for saving power when the device operates at lower conversion rates.
