The 8563 is a low-power CMOS real-time clock/calendar IC featuring a programmable clock output, an interrupt output, and a power-down detector. All addresses and data are transferred serially via the I²C bus interface, with a maximum bus speed of 400 Kbit/s. The internal word address register increments automatically after each read/write operation.
