Introduction
MSTP4056H is a 1A single-cell lithium-ion battery linear charger featuring an input voltage rating up to 36V with power OVP, operating in constant-current/constant-voltage charging mode. The CE, TEMP, CHRG, and STDBY pins also support voltage ratings up to 36V. Built on an internal PMOSFET architecture with reverse-charge protection circuitry, no external isolation diode is required. Thermal feedback adaptively adjusts the charging current to limit it under high-power operation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. The termination voltage is 4.2V, and the charging current is externally programmable via a single resistor. When the charging current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value after the final float voltage is reached, MSTP4056H automatically terminates the charge cycle. When the input voltage is removed, MSTP4056H automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery leakage current to below 0.1uA. MSTP4056H also features battery temperature monitoring, CE enable input control, UVLO, automatic recharge, and two LED status pins indicating charging and charge completion. Available in thermally enhanced ESOP8 and DFN-8 (2×2) packages with exposed thermal pads, suitable for USB power and adapter power applications.
