Introduction
LY6397ET is a fully integrated power management IC designed specifically for Bluetooth earphone charging cases. The chip integrates a lithium battery charge management module, a synchronous boost converter, battery fuel gauging, and multiple protection features. It incorporates an input overvoltage protection circuit with an overvoltage protection threshold of 6.1V, and the VIN input withstand voltage is up to 30V. The chip features adapter adaptive functionality to prevent charging anomalies or adapter damage caused by adapter mismatch or excessive resistance in the charging cable. In addition, the LY6397ET supports direct driving of the enable pin via a Hall sensor, enabling automatic earphone connection upon lid opening, LED illumination for 4 seconds, and automatic boost output activation upon lid closing — without requiring external MOSFETs, transistors, or other control circuitry. The chip can also be controlled via a microcontroller to manage the output and enable one-way communication. The LY6397ET further integrates NTC temperature monitoring functionality, typically requiring only a single NTC resistor to monitor lithium battery temperature during both charging and discharging states.
