The R71H uses metallized polypropylene film with tinned radial leads. The radial leads are electrically welded to the metallized layer at the ends of the capacitor winding. The capacitor is encapsulated in a self-extinguishing, solvent-resistant plastic case and thermosetting resin material compliant with UL 94V-0. Automotive-grade devices meet the stringent AEC-Q200 qualification requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council.

Typical applications include power factor correction and pulse applications. Not suitable for across-the-line applications (see suppression capacitors).
