Introduction
The LPS33W is an ultra-compact piezoresistive pressure sensor usable as a digital output barometer in the 260–1260 hPa range, housed in a gel-filled package. The sensor comes in a CCLGA10L package measuring 3.3×3.3×2.9 mm, a ceramic LGA with metal lid. The device includes a sensing element and an IC interface that communicates data from the sensing element to the application via I²C or SPI. The sensing element, used for pressure detection, consists of a suspended membrane fabricated through a dedicated process. The sensor is guaranteed to operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. A hole in the package allows external pressure to reach the sensing element. The gel inside the IC protects the electrical components from harsh environmental conditions.
