Introduction
The FCT2245T contains eight non-inverting bidirectional buffers with 3-state outputs, designed for bus-oriented applications. On-chip termination resistors have been added to the outputs to reduce system noise caused by reflections. As a result, the FCT2245T can be used as a drop-in replacement for the FCT245T in existing designs. The FCT2245T provides 12 mA sink current capability on both the A and B ports.
The Send/Receive (T/R) input determines the direction of data flow through the bidirectional transceiver. Transmit (active HIGH) enables data flow from port A to port B; Receive (active LOW) enables data flow from port B to port A. When the Output Enable (OE) input is HIGH, both port A and port B are disabled by placing them in a high-impedance state.
The outputs feature a power-off disable function to allow live insertion and removal of boards.
