The TPS65197/B is an 8-channel level shifter with a discharge function, suitable for LCD display applications such as laptops, monitors, and TVs. This device converts the timing controller (T-CON) logic level signals into the high-level signals required by Gate-in-Panel (GIP) displays. The clock output CLKOUTx supports normal level shifting operations and 2-channel or 3-channel charge sharing, which can be used to improve image quality and power consumption. When power is off, all outputs follow their input signals as much as possible; when the discharge function is used, the outputs are pulled high (VGH). The TPS65197 performs a logic reset after the rising edge of STV (which forces all 6 output clocks to VGL1) to ignore incorrect T-CON signals. The next rising edge of CLKIN1 unlocks the logic and enables normal operation. The TPS65197B does not have a logic reset, and all output signals always track their input signals.
