Introduction
The LMP91002 device is a programmable analog front-end (AFE) suitable for micropower electrochemical sensing applications. It provides a complete signal path solution between the non-biased gas sensor and the microcontroller, which can generate an output voltage proportional to the cell current. The programmability of the LMP91002 enables it to support non-biased electrochemical gas sensors with a single design. The LMP91002 supports gas sensitivities in the range of 0.5 nA/ppm to 9500 nA/ppm. The device can also achieve simple conversion within a full-scale current range of 5 μA to 750 μA. The gain of the transimpedance amplifier (TIA) of the LMP91002 can be programmed via the I²C interface. The I²C interface can also be used for sensor diagnostics. The LMP91002 is optimized for micropower applications, with an operating voltage range of 2.7 V to 3.6 V and a total current consumption of less than 10 μA. Further power savings can be achieved by turning off the TIA amplifier and using an internal switch to short the reference electrode to the working electrode.
