Introduction
The UA78L series fixed-voltage linear regulators are designed for a wide range of applications. The UA78L series can be used for on-board regulation to eliminate noise and distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. The UA78L can also be used with power pass elements to make high-current voltage regulators. The UA78L series regulators provide output currents up to 100 mA. In addition, the UA78L operates stably across the full load current range without requiring external capacitors. Internal current limiting and thermal shutdown features help protect the device against overload conditions.
For legacy devices, the UA78L00C and UA78L00AC series have a junction temperature range of 0°C to +125°C, and the UA78L05AI device has an operating junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
For new devices, the UA78L series has a junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
