TI TPS54541DPRT

The TPS54541 is a 42V, 5A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Per ISO 7637, the device withstands load dump pulses up to 45V. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low-ripple pulse skip mode reduces no-load output supply current to 152μA. Pulling the enable pin low reduces shutdown supply current to 2μA.

UVLO is internally set at 4.3V but can be raised using an external resistor divider on the enable pin. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the soft-start pin, which can also be configured for power sequencing and tracking. An open-drain power-good signal indicates the output is within 93% to 106% of its nominal voltage.

The wide adjustable switching frequency range can be optimized for efficiency or external component size. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting, frequency foldback, and thermal shutdown protect internal and external components under overload conditions.

The TPS54541 is available in a 10-pin, 4mm × 4mm WSON package.
