Introduction
KEMET's A781 is a surface mount conductive polymer hybrid capacitor with excellent electrical performance. The A781 winding is encased in a cylindrical aluminum can with a high-quality rubber end seal. Low ESR is achieved through a highly conductive polymer (poly 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene/polystyrene sulfonate, PEDOT/PSS). This polymer system forms an electrical path between the anodic oxide layer and the cathode via a mechanical separator — paper. The A781 winding is impregnated with liquid electrolyte, which imparts self-healing characteristics to the capacitor. Due to its high mechanical strength, the A781 is suited for mobile and automotive applications operating at temperatures up to +135°C.
