Introduction
TPS54560B is a 60V, 5A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. Low-ripple pulse skip mode reduces no-load supply current to 146μA. When the EN pin is pulled low, shutdown supply current decreases to 2μA. The UVLO is internally set at 4.3V but can be increased using the EN pin. The output voltage startup ramp can be internally controlled to achieve a controlled startup and eliminate overshoot. The wide switching frequency range allows optimization of either efficiency or external component size. Output current is cycle-by-cycle current limited. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown protect internal and external components under overload conditions. The TPS54560B is available in an 8-pin thermally enhanced HSOIC PowerPAD package.
