Introduction
The ISO1042-Q1 device is an electrically isolated Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver that complies with the ISO11898-2 (2016) standard specifications. The ISO1042-Q1 device provides ±70V DC bus fault protection and a ±30V common-mode voltage range. This device supports a maximum data rate of 5Mbps in CAN FD mode, enabling faster payload transmission compared to classic CAN. It uses a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier, which can withstand a voltage of 5000V RMS and an operating voltage of 1060V RMS. The electromagnetic compatibility has been significantly enhanced, enabling system-level ESD, EFT, and surge protection and complying with radiation standards. When used with an isolated power supply, this device can withstand high-voltage surges and prevent bus noise current from entering the local ground. The ISO1042-Q1 device can be used for basic and enhanced isolation. The ISO1042-Q1 device supports a wide ambient temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
