Introduction
The ADuM744x series quad-channel 1 kV digital isolators are available in a compact 16-pin QSOP package. Compared to the 16-pin SOIC wide-body package used by most quad-channel isolators, the ADuM744x saves nearly 70% of board space while still withstanding high isolation voltages and meeting regulatory requirements such as UL and CSA standards (pending approval). In addition to space savings, the ADuM744x is priced lower than 2.5 kV or 5 kV isolators, making it suitable for applications requiring only basic isolation. This product family features extremely low power consumption — at data rates up to 25 Mbps, power consumption is only one-tenth to one-sixth that of comparable isolators. Beyond low power consumption, all ADuM744x models offer very low pulse width distortion (less than 5 ns for Grade C). Furthermore, each model includes an input glitch filter to prevent interference from external noise. The ADuM744x isolators provide four independent isolation channels, supporting multiple channel configurations and two data rate options up to 25 Mbps. All models operate from a 3.0 V to 5.5 V supply voltage, ensuring compatibility with low-voltage systems and enabling voltage translation across the isolation barrier. In addition, all models default to a logic-high output state in the absence of input power.
