Introduction
TDP1204 is an HDMI 2.1 redriver that supports data rates up to 12Gbps, with backward compatibility to HDMI 1.4b and HDMI 2.0b. The high-speed differential inputs and outputs can be AC-coupled or DC-coupled, enabling use of the TDP1204 as a DP++ to HDMI level shifter or HDMI redriver. The TDP1204 supports 3-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12Gbps three-lane and four-lane HDMI 2.1 FRL. The TDP1204 is a hybrid redriver that supports both source-side and sink-side applications. The hybrid redriver can operate as either a linear redriver or a limiting redriver. When configured as a limiting redriver, the differential output voltage level of the TDP1204 is independent of the GPU output level, ensuring that the HDMI levels at the connector meet specifications. Limiting redriver mode is recommended for HDMI source applications. When configured as a linear redriver, the differential output level of the TDP1204 is a linear function of the GPU output level, enabling the TDP1204 to be used for transparent link training or as a channel shortener. Linear redriver mode is recommended for HDMI sink applications.
