Introduction
This product is a +3.3V-powered RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with ±16kV ESD protection. It integrates a failsafe circuit that ensures the receiver output remains logic high when the receiver inputs are open, shorted, or all transmitters on the bus are disabled. All devices in the family support hot-plug capability, suppressing glitch transients on the bus during power-up or hot-insertion. The HX65HVD72E and HX65HVD75E feature a slew-rate-limited driver design that helps reduce EMI and signal reflections caused by improper cable termination, supporting error-free data transmission at up to 500kbps; the HX65HVD78E features an unlimited slew-rate driver capable of transmission rates up to 16Mbps. All devices are designed for half-duplex communication. The receiver features 1/8 unit load input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected in parallel on a single bus. Products are available in commercial and industrial temperature ranges, in 8-pin DIP and 8-pin SOP packages.
