This high-reliability SMT transient voltage suppressor product series incorporates a rectifier diode connected in series with, and oriented opposite to, the main TVS protection diode. The protected circuit sees only the low 100pF capacitance of the rectifier diode. They are available in DO-215AB or DO-214AB packages with RoHS-compliant versions offered. The low-capacitance characteristics of these TVS devices make them suitable for protecting high-frequency signals and communication lines in inductive switching environments or systems exposed to secondary lightning effects, compliant with IEC61000-4-5. They also provide ESD and EFT protection per IEC61000-4-2 and IEC61000-4-4. Where bipolar transient protection capability is required, two such low-capacitance TVS devices may be used in a parallel, opposing orientation to achieve full AC protection.
