Introduction
AM2925/AM2925A is a single-chip universal clock generator/driver. Crystal-controlled with microprogrammable clock cycle lengths, it significantly improves speed over fixed cycle-length approaches while meeting diverse system speed requirements. The AM2925/AM2925A generates four different synchronous clock output waveforms to support AM2900-based and other bipolar and MOS microprocessor systems. Via cycle length inputs L1, L2, and L3, one of eight cycle lengths can be selected under microprogram control. The AM2925 oscillator operates at up to 31 MHz; the AM2925A operates at up to 50 MHz with crystal input and up to 60 MHz with TTL input. In addition to the four microcoded clock outputs C1, C2, C3, and C4, a buffered oscillator output F0 is provided for external system timing. System control functions include Run, Stop, Single-Step, Initialize, and Ready/Wait control. The FIRST/LAST input determines where Stop occurs, and the CX input determines the end-of-wait-cycle timing. WAITACK indicates that the AM2925/AM2925A is in a wait state.
