Introduction
Diodes Incorporated's PI2EQX6814 is a 6.5Gbps low-power, 4-lane (8-channel) SAS2, SATA, and XAUI signal redriver. The device provides programmable equalization, amplification, and de-emphasis via pin-strapping or I²C control and select pins, optimizing performance across various physical media by reducing inter-symbol interference. The PI2EQX6814 supports eight 100Ω differential CML data inputs/outputs between protocol ASICs and switch fabrics, across backplanes, or over other remote data paths on user platforms. Integrated equalization circuitry provides signal integrity flexibility upstream of the redriver, while integrated de-emphasis circuitry provides signal integrity flexibility downstream of the redriver. In addition to signal reconditioning, the Diodes PI2EQX6814 offers a power management standby mode via a power-down pin or I²C registers. Furthermore, the device automatically enters sleep mode (transmit disabled) when the receiver is idle.
