Introduction
The ISO7640FM and ISO7641FM provide 6 kVₚₖ current isolation for up to 1 minute, compliant with UL and VDE standards. These devices have been proven in practice to provide reinforced insulation up to 5 kVᵣₘₛ at an operating voltage of 400 Vᵣₘₛ, compliant with the end - equipment standards EN/UL/CSA 60950 - 1 and 61010 - 1. Both the ISO7640F and ISO7641F are four - channel isolators. The ISO7640F has four forward channels, while the ISO7641F has three forward channels and one reverse channel. The suffix F indicates that the output defaults to a low - level state in a fail - safe situation. The M - grade devices are high - speed isolators with a data transfer rate of 150 Mbps and short propagation delay. Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by a silica (SiO₂) insulation barrier. When used with an isolated power supply, these devices prevent noise currents on the data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground or interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. These devices have transistor - transistor logic (TTL) input thresholds and can operate with 2.7V, 3.3V, and 5V power supplies. When powered by a 3.3V or 2.7V supply, all inputs can tolerate 5V.
