Introduction
The ADR42x series are high-precision, second-generation extra implanted FET (XFET) voltage references featuring low noise, high accuracy, and excellent long-term stability, available in SOIC and MSOP packages. By combining patented curvature correction technology with XFET technology, nonlinearity of voltage variation with temperature is minimized. The XFET architecture delivers superior accuracy and thermal hysteresis performance compared to bandgap references, while also offering lower power consumption and reduced supply headroom versus buried zener references. The ADR42x's outstanding noise performance, stability, and accuracy make it ideal for precision conversion applications such as fiber optic networks and medical equipment. An optional trim pin allows output voltage adjustment within ±0.5% without affecting other performance parameters. The ADR42x series voltage references are offered in two electrical grades, rated for an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, available in 8-lead SOIC or 8-lead MSOP packages (the latter being 30% smaller than the former).
