Introduction
AH1711/AH1712/AH1713/AH1714 are low-voltage, high-sensitivity Hall-effect latch ICs designed for brushless DC motor commutation speed measurement, angular or linear encoders, and position sensing in industrial applications. To support a wide range of demanding applications, the design is optimized for operation from 2.4V to 5.5V. Employing a chopper-stabilized architecture and an internal bandgap regulator to provide temperature-compensated power to internal circuitry, the device delivers a reliable solution across the entire operating range. The open-drain output of AH1711/AH1712/AH1713 turns on when a south-pole magnetic field of sufficient strength is applied near the top of the package, while a north-pole magnetic field of sufficient strength turns the open-drain output off (AH1714 has the opposite polarity). When the magnetic flux density (B) perpendicular to the package exceeds the operate point (Bop), the output turns on (pulled low). The output remains latched until the flux density reverses and falls below the release point (Brp).
