Descripción
The TPS92691/-Q1 is a general-purpose LED controller that supports a range of boost or buck driver topologies. The device implements a fixed-frequency peak current mode control technique with programmable switching frequency, ramp compensation, and soft-start timing. It integrates a high-voltage (65V) rail-to-rail current sense amplifier, enabling direct measurement of LED current using a high-side or low-side series sense resistor. This amplifier can be used to achieve a low input offset voltage and an LED current accuracy better than ±3% over a junction temperature range of 25°C to 140°C and an output common-mode voltage range of 0 to 60V. LED current can be individually modulated using either analog or PWM dimming techniques. A linear analog dimming response with a 15:1 range can be obtained by varying the voltage from 140mV to 2.25V across the high-impedance analog adjustment input (IADJ). PWM dimming of the LED current is achieved by modulating the PWM input pin to the desired duty cycle and frequency. An optional DDRV gate driver output can be used to enable series FET dimming with a contrast ratio greater than 1000:1. The TPS92691/-Q1 supports continuous monitoring of the LED status through a current monitor output. This enables LED short-circuit or open-circuit detection and protection. Other fault protection features include VCC UVLO, output overvoltage protection (OVP), switch cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal protection.
