TLD6099-2ES is a dual-channel multi-topology DC-DC controller designed for LED applications with integrated protection features, enabling compact LED driver designs. The two channels produce independent output currents regulated by peak current control loops. Internal slope compensation prevents sub-harmonic oscillation at high duty cycles (e.g., above 50%). Current accuracy is better than 3.5% over the full operating temperature range (without analog dimming applied). The current sense amplifier provides topology flexibility to support LED strings of more than 20 white LEDs (output voltage up to 70V). Switching frequency is adjustable from 100kHz to 500kHz via external resistor, or fixed at 2.2MHz. External clock synchronization is also supported. An integrated spread spectrum modulator simplifies compliance with EMI standards. Each channel of the TLD6099-2ES can drive an external NMOS for rapid output capacitor discharge. This feature helps manage fast load transients caused by lighting function switching scenarios (e.g., switching from low beam to high beam, or driving adaptive high beam via a matrix manager). Each channel offers two dimming sources: analog output adjustment reduces output current by modulating the reference voltage; digital dimming reduces LED brightness by modulating the output current.
