Introduction
MAX487ESA is a transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication systems. The HM485 supports data transmission rates up to 2.5Mbps for both transmit and receive. The RS-485 operates in half-duplex mode. In addition, the RS-485 features Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (RE) pins; when disabled, both driver and receiver outputs enter a high-impedance state. The MAX487ESA incorporates a failsafe function that ensures the receiver output remains high when the input is open-circuited or short-circuited during receive mode.
