Introduction
The DS90C032 is a quad CMOS differential line receiver designed for applications requiring ultralow power consumption and high data rates. The DS90C032 accepts low-voltage differential input signals and converts them to CMOS (TTL-compatible) output levels. The receiver supports three-state functionality that can be used for output multiplexing. The receiver also supports open-circuit failsafe, as well as failsafe for terminated (100Ω) inputs with external failsafe bias resistors added — in both failsafe conditions, the receiver outputs are high. The DS90C032 provides a power-down high-impedance LVDS input, a feature that ensures minimal loading on LVDS bus lines when VCC is absent. The DS90C032 and its companion line driver DS90C031 offer a new alternative to high-power pseudo-ECL devices in high-speed point-to-point interface applications.
